SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - One new local business is putting the "bar" in barber shop.
Hair of the Dog Bar/bershop, located at 323 East Monroe Street in Springfield, offers customers competitively-priced haircuts with a twist; beer and other alcoholic drinks are also sold inside the business.
Co-owners Declan Binninger and Jeremy Bredemeyer opened the business earlier this year.
When asked about the concept of a barber shop and bar combined, Binninger said, "We kind of came to think it fits rather nicely. A guy getting a haircut is gonna want something...that would likely be a beer. Just kind of seems to fit. It's less of a bar feel than a coffee shop feel...with beer."
