DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Is it too hot outside for you? Decatur has one cool spot for you.
The Decatur Civic Center opened its skate rink in July. It’s a way to stay cool indoors and remain active.
“We’ve got ice. We’ve got good ice,” Decatur Civic Center General Manager Chris Brodniki told WAND News. “We’ve got a couple of sessions every day and then once school starts back in session, which may be another week or two away, we’ll go back to just weekends. But right now, we’ve got ice and if you’re hot, get in here.”
Skating starts each morning seven days a week at 10:30 a.m. If you don’t have skates, the Civic Center rents them.
