PEKIN, Ill. (AP) -- State officials say a central Illinois company will expand operations and create 100 new jobs over the next two years.
Excel Foundry & Machine, which makes bronze parts for the mining industry, is located in Pekin.
Gov. Pat Quinn visited the company Tuesday and says the state will invest $1 million in tax credits and an employer training incentive program to help the workforce. Officials say Excel will invest more than $7 million to construct a new 109,000-square foot facility next to its existing plant.
Also Tuesday, Quinn announced a $4 million investment to develop a multi-modal station in Rockford, which he says will help create hundreds of jobs.
The station is expected to cost about $12 million.
Quinn also stopped in Moline Tuesday to open a new campus building.
