GARRETT, Ill. (WAND) - One woman is dead following an overnight house fire in Garrett Thursday.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said officers responded to a reported house fire just after 2 a.m. at 301 South West 3rd Street.Â
First responders arrived to find the one-story home heavily on fire.Â
The Sheriff's Office said that a woman, later identified as 42-year-old Jennifer Chandler, was found dead inside the home.Â
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
