DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A boil order that took effect after a water main break, impacting several areas of Decatur, has now been lifted.Â
The boil order was lifted shortly after 7 a.m. Friday
The impacted areas were as follows, according to the City of Decatur:
- W Center from Florian to Wyckles
- Wyckles Road from W Center to W Main
- W Main from Wyckles to Dipper
- Everyone in the Wilcox neighborhood off N Elizabeth
- Any neighborhood on or off Elizabeth, North of W Center
- North Sunnyside
- Price neighborhood off Sunnyside
- Heather Hills Neighborhood
The City of Decatur told WAND News that the boil order was issued after a non-city contractor accidentally hit the water main Thursday evening. The break affected a large water main loop serving the west side of Decatur. The main break has been fixed and there are no traffic concerns.Â
