Boil order issued

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A boil order that took effect after a water main break, impacting several areas of Decatur, has now been lifted.

The boil order was lifted shortly after 7 a.m. Friday

The impacted areas were as follows, according to the City of Decatur:

  • W Center from Florian to Wyckles
  • Wyckles Road from W Center to W Main
  • W Main from Wyckles to Dipper
  • Everyone in the Wilcox neighborhood off N Elizabeth
  • Any neighborhood on or off Elizabeth, North of W Center
  • North Sunnyside
  • Price neighborhood off Sunnyside
  • Heather Hills Neighborhood

The City of Decatur told WAND News that the boil order was issued after a non-city contractor accidentally hit the water main Thursday evening. The break affected a large water main loop serving the west side of Decatur. The main break has been fixed and there are no traffic concerns.
