Ikea Minimum Wage

(WAND) — IKEA is planning to open a new store in Illinois this year. 

IKEA is a furniture retailer founded in Sweden in 1943. It is well-known for its affordability and self-assembly furnishings. 

The company announced several new store openings planned for 2026, including a location in the Gurnee Mills shopping mall in Gurnee, Illinois. Gurnee is about 50 minutes north of downtown Chicago, near the Illinois-Wisconsin border.

Illinois currently has two IKEA stores and five pick-up locations throughout the state, including a pick-up location in Champaign. There are 55 total locations across the U.S.
