CHICAGO, Ill. (WAND) - A Chicago building was renamed to honor former Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White Thursday.
The Jesse White State of Illinois Building pays tribute to the Prairie State's longest-serving Secretary of State.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said in a July 24 press release that White "spent his career doing something good for the people of Illinois every single day."
"He championed good and honest government at a time when our state needed it the most–putting us on a path to progress by rooting out the corruption and insider dealing that had defined our institutions," Prizker said in a statement.Â
The building is home to the Secretary of State Flagship Center, a two-story DMV facility that opened in Chicago in April 2025.Â
