The Citizens Utility Board and IL Rep. Kimberly du Buclet advocated for a bill to help Illinoisans avoid bad energy deals.
Cub said Illinois consumers have lost around $2 billion to alternative electricity suppliers, including those with door-to-door marketing campaigns.
The bill would create rules to help protect customers from bad deals when buying from those suppliers.
