DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Crossing Healthcare in Decatur is bringing back its annual "Ready, Set, School" clinics to prepare students and local families for the upcoming school year.

The clinics are meant to make it easier for busy families to complete Illinois school health requirements before classes begin in the fall.

"Each year, some students are sent home during the first days of school or experience delays in starting classes because school health requirements have not been completed," Crossing Healthcare said in a press release. "Ready, Set, School helps families take care of these requirements before the school year begins, helping students start the year healthy, prepared, and ready to learn."

The clinics are open to students entering kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade and 12th grade during the 2026-27 school year. Services include school physicals and immunizations through Crossing Healthcare, along with dental screenings provided by Familia Dental.

The clinic dates are July 14, July 28 and August 11. Appointments are available from 3-6:30 p.m.

Crossing Healthcare said families should schedule appointments early since availability is limited. Appointments are available for Crossing Healthcare patients and children without a primary care provider. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 217-877-9117.
