DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The City of Decatur is dealing with several water main breaks due to cold weather Friday.

Several WAND News viewers sent in pictures and videos of a flooded intersection on North 22nd Street and East Locust Street Friday morning.

The City of Decatur Public Works Department confirmed that a 12-inch main blew on 22nd Street.

The rupture forced a closure of 22nd Street near E. Locust. The southbound lanes have since reopened.

But Decatur's Public Works Department said the northbound lanes will likely stay closed for about a week due to pavement damage. Drivers should use an alternate route.

One WAND News viewer video showed one intersection flooded and starting to ice over early Friday morning.

The City of Decatur also said they were dealing with a break near Robinson Charter School in a Facebook post. That Public Works Department confirmed that the break has been fixed and the road is back open.
