FORSYTH, Ill. (WAND) - The Village of Forsyth has taken yet another step towards bringing a Chick-fil-A to the area.
The Board of Trustees passed several votes Tuesday evening related to a new Chick-fil-A location that will take over the former Applebee's Grill & Bar at 1275 North U.S. 51.
A village administrator told WAND News that all votes were passed unanimously.Â
All but one ordinance was passed unanimously at the Village's planning and zoning commission board meeting Jan. 15.
Village Administrator Jill Applebee said Chick-fil-A developers plan to build a 5,218 square foot restaurant on the site. An opening day has not been announced yet, but the village expects work to begin in the spring.
Chick-fil-A, one of the most popular fast-food chains in the U.S., is known for its menu centered around chicken, customer service and being closed on Sundays.
According to the company, Chick-fil-A has more than 3,000 locations, including more than 75 in Illinois.
