DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – A statement made by former President Bill Clinton during a deposition before a House oversight committee looking into the Epstein sex scandal raised some eyebrows here in Illinois.
Answering a question from a member of Congress, Clinton appeared to indicate that Governor JB Pritzker had flown on a plane owned by Jeffrey Epstein.
“I think, that I had my first trip through the man who is now the Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, and his wife. They helped me get started,” Clinton stated.
Republicans jumped on the statement, posting on social media that Pritzker flew on the plane owned by pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“President Clinton clearly was mistaken, and he corrected the mistake,” Pritzker told reporters on Tuesday. “No, I never met Jeffrey Epstein. I was never on Jeffrey Epstein’s plane, with Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell. Never met her.”
A statement on social media from a Clinton spokesman clarified the former president was talking about a Clinton Foundation trip Pritzker was on in 2008 and stated Pritzker was not on Jeffrey Epstein’s plane and was not with Epstein or Maxwell.
