CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — The man killed in a Champaign shooting late Friday afternoon has been identified.

The city of Champaign said that police responded near the intersection of East Columbia Avenue and North 5th Street just before 5:30 p.m. after reports of a shooting.

Police said they found a 33-year-old man, later identified by the Champaign County Coroner as Aaron Sibley of Champaign, shot in a nearby alley.

Sibley was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Police are still looking for the shooter.

This marked the second shooting in Champaign this week. An 18-year-old was shot near the Schnucks along North Marris Avenue Tuesday night.
