(WAND) - High school students will get a chance to explore careers in healthcare this summer as the Hospital Sisters Health System is hosting healthcare bootcamps at three locations.

The events are designed for juniors and seniors looking for hands-on experiences and opportunities to connect with professionals.

An educator in the program said there's much more to healthcare than just nurses and doctors.

"You have radiology, pharmacy, lab, physical therapy, and lots of other things for them to see. And hopefully this will give them some of that insight into what they want to do in the future," said Paula Rudolph, a nurse educator at HSHS St. Mary's.
