(WAND) - Illinois officials have rolled out new rules to build affordable housing and prevent existing units from disappearing.
The Illinois Housing Development Authority said its two-year plan will hand out a series of tax credits to developers to help get the job done.
Builders are incentivized to lower construction costs, build more units and use creative, low-cost building methods.
