(WAND) — Airports throughout Illinois will receive almost $5 million in funding for improvements, Illinois Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth announced on Friday.
The funding will come from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Four airports were listed as recipients:
- Flora Municipal Airport (Flora, IL): $451,142
- Vermilion Regional Airport (Danville, IL): $304,000
- Chicago Executive Airport (Wheeling, IL): $2,530,945
- Rockford International Airport (Rockford, IL): $1,534,750
"By improving and modernizing airport infrastructure, we are laying the foundation for increased connectivity and reliability," said Durbin.
