DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Scovill Zoo in Decatur is saying goodbye to two of its longtime residents.Â
The Zoo announced in a March 20 Facebook post that its 23-year-old zebra, Fluffy, and its 18-year-old miniature zebu bull Eli died over the winter.Â
Fluffy was euthanized in November 2025 following a battle with equine Cushing’s disease. Scovill Zoo added that it euthanized Eli near the end of the year after he was suffering from more age-related health issues.Â
Eli spent 16 years at the zoo, while Fluffy started at Idaho Falls Zoo and then Zoo Knoxville in Tennessee before arriving in Decatur.Â
"We miss Fluffy and Eli, and the keepers are thankful for all the years they had caring for them," the Zoo said in the post.Â
