SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Springfield residents are invited to attend an open house next month regarding the 19th Street Rail Corridor feasibility study.
The meeting will take place from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the cafeteria of Washington Middle School.
The study evaluates a corridor stretching from Clear Lake Avenue in Springfield to the closed Crowne III Mine near Farmersville. It will examine safety, economic development and possible trail opportunities.
The meeting will not have a formal presentation, and people can drop in at any time.
