SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Illinois State Fair has announced that The Chicks will take the Illinois Lottery Grandstand stage on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026.
The trio—Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Strayer—is recognized as the best-selling female band in U.S. history, with more than 30 million albums sold. The group has earned 13 Grammy Awards along with multiple Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, and Country Music Association honors.
Known for hits like “Cowboy Take Me Away,” “Landslide,” and “Not Ready to Make Nice,” The Chicks have remained a major force in music with their signature harmonies and dynamic live performances.
“We’re proud to continue bringing top-tier entertainment to the Illinois State Fair, and The Chicks are a fantastic addition to this year’s lineup,” said Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II.
After a nearly 14-year break, the group released their fifth studio album, Gaslighter, in 2020. The album, produced alongside Jack Antonoff, marked a return with a modern and progressive sound.
Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark said the group is known for delivering unforgettable performances. “With a catalog of songs that so many people know and love, this will be a special night at the Grandstand,” Clark said.
Tickets for the show go on sale Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Prices range from $88 to $168, with an optional $30 pre-show party upgrade.
The 2026 Illinois State Fair runs Aug. 13 through Aug. 23 in Springfield.
