ISP: Video on adult website recorded at Illinois School for the Deaf under investigation

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois State Police say they are investigating after a video recorded at Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) appeared on an adult website.

ISP Master Sergeant Mike Link, told WAND-TV that the incident occurred in April and they are currently investigating.

"Further information has recently been brought to the attention of the ISP involving the video and we are currently investigating the new information as well," said Sgt. Link.

According to Illinois Association of the Deaf (IAD), two students at the school are involved in posting the video. Both may have been minors at the time of the filming. IAD believes the video may have been filmed in one of the school bathrooms.

ISD is located in Jacksonville and educates around 200 students from Pre-K through high school.

The IAD Board of Directors sent a letter to Governor Rauner saying in part there is a "great concern for the welfare and safety of the students at the Illinois School for the Deaf."

The letter from IAD, goes on to say, "With the number of reports received from concerned members about ISD throughout the past several years, we are concerned with the social and emotional well-being of ISD students. We request a thorough investigation and for those responsible for the students’ welfare and safety to be held accountable."

ISP said the investigation is ongoing and no further information on the case is available.Â
