DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A Decatur police officer is unhurt after being hit by a car Thursday morning.

First responders on Decatur's west side Thursday, Jan. 6, 2025. According to Decatur police, an officer was hit by a woman evading arrest.
According to the Decatur Police Department, officers were attempting to arrest a 22-year-old woman Thursday morning around W. King Street near N. University Ave. She tried to flee in a car, but ended up hitting an officer. The officer was not hurt, and she was arrested.Â
DPD did not specify what charge the woman was originally being arrested for.
The scene was cleared and the road reopened by 10:30 a.m.
