Macon Co. Deputy Coroner announces candidacy for Macon County Coroner

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Macon County Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Kashefska has announced his candidacy for the Office of the Macon County Coroner.

Kashefska was appointed to his position by Michael E. Day, Macon County Coroner, in March of 2020. In a statement he said that in this role, he "had the honor to serve countless members of the community in their most time of need" at times working "statewide and coast to coast" to contact next of kin.

He has also been in leadership roles in the community, including serving as music director/organist for Holy Cross Lutheran Church for 23 years.

"You have my pledge to continue operating the office of the Macon County Coroner as it has been run with respect, dignity and compassion for all the members of our community," he said.
