ONARGA, Ill. (WAND) -Â A man has pleaded guilty to attacking a paramedic in Iroquois County in July.Â
Joseph Burke of Onarga was arrested on July 11. Police said Burke was charged with aggravated battery to a medical worker.
According to the Iroquois County Sheriff's Office, the paramedics requested police assistance after Burke attacked a medical worker while they were trying to provide medical assistance to someone else.Â
Burke initially pleaded not guilty. He later changed that, entering into a plea agreement. He pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated battery. Two other counts were dropped.Â
He was sentenced to two years probation and must undergo mandatory drug testing.Â
