DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A patient is being held for aggravated criminal sexual assault after a hospital visit.

Victor W. Nunnery, 22, was arrested on Jan. 6 at St. Mary's Hospital. According to a sworn affidavit from a Decatur Police officer, Nunnery attempted to assault an X-ray technician during while being seen for pain in his shoulder.

The technician told police that after completing X-rays of Nunnery's shoulder, she turned her back to clean the equipment before taking him back to the emergency department lobby. While her back was turned, she said that he grabbed her by the shoulders and threw her into a wall. She then fell to the ground and a struggle ensured in which Nunnery kept trying to pull her pants down while she pulled them back up.

A staff member heard the victim's screams while passing by the exam room. When she ran into the room, she said that the victim's lower body was exposed and that Nunnery was leaning over her with his own pants pulled down. At this point, the victim was able to leave the room and hospital security showed up shortly after.

In the affidavit, Nunnery is quoted as having told the staff member who interrupted the assault that "she wanted it" and "it wasn't a big deal, and nothing happened." He similarly told the security officer that the victim asked for it but also asked how long he would get for rape.

During the interview with officers, he said he was aroused by the victim when she touched his shoulders to perform the X-ray.

Judge Lindsey A. Shelton denied Nunnery's pre-trial release and he has remained in the custody of the Macon County Jail. His pre-trial date has been set for early March.
