FORSYTH, Ill. (WAND) — The Maroa-Forsyth School district welcomed Adam Ibbotson as their new superintendent on July 1st. 

Ibboston has 24 years of experience working in education in Illinois. most recently, he taught science and was an administrator in District 15 at Williamsville-Sherman. 

Ibboston said he's been scheduling meetings will staff, teachers, and faculty in the district in hopes of learning more about the community. "I'm really just interested to get to know everyone's story." said Ibbotson. "I'm really sitting down to try to learn about the district, learn about how they've been successful in the past and what I can do to just help people move forward."

Ibbotson said he is really looking forward to getting involved with the community that he's learned so much about. "I was attracted here because of the strong reputation it has for families, for kids -- a small school with big time opportunities...Maroa-Forsyth has a great reputation of being a wonderful school district. Great kids, great people here, and I'm excited to be a part of the community."

Ibbotson will be able to get involved with his new students on Frida, August 16th, first day of school for Maroa-Forsyth.
