MACON, Ill. (WAND) - A new contract is in sight for teachers at the Meridian School District. 

The Board of Education and union reached an agreement. It happened during Wednesday night's negotiations. 

Since June, the teachers have been in negotiations with the board and worked under an expired contract since August. 

Teachers will have the opportunity to review and vote on the tentative agreement before further details are released. 

The union has set a ratification vote for November.
