MT. ZION, IL- Police arrested a Mt. Zion man Friday for allegedly having a bag of cocaine and a gun in his home.
Michael Stanley, 33, has been charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a church and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
According to sworn statements, Mt. Zion Police went to Stanley's home in the 1300 block of Woodland Drive in reference to a previous burglary.
Officers allegedly found a plastic bag with about 30 grams of cocaine sitting out and a gun case that had been broken open.
Officers questioned Stanley, who was being held in the Macon County Jail in connection with another case. Stanley told police that the cocaine was his but that he does not sell it.
Stanley also told police that he kept a pistol in the gun case but it was stolen. He would not tell police were he got the gun.
Stanley has a lengthy criminal history, including felon convictions for burglary, theft, aggravated battery, domestic battery and mob action. He is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
