DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A teenager from Mt. Zion is in the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Friday night.
It happened in the 2500 block of North 22nd Street around 11:15 Friday night.
Decatur Police says the teen was driving a motorcycle south and a Chevy Cobalt was heading north. When the car turned left into a parking lot, the two collided.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 16-year-old from Mt. Zion, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. They were taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the car, 63-year-old Karen Boehm of Decatur was also taken to the hospital and toxicology reports show there were methamphetamines and amphetamines in Boehm's system.
Decatur Police arrested her, and she is facing several charges including Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Drugs causing great bodily harm, Driving with a revoked license.
Police are still investigating.
