URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — Multiple households have been displaced, and one person was given medical care for smoke inhalation at a fire in Urbana Monday morning.
The Urbana Fire Department was called out for the apartment building fire around 7:30 a.m.
The flames coming out of the building, located in the 2000 block Philo Road, were noticed by a construction crew nearby who called it in.

When UFD arrived, there was fire visible from a third floor window of the three story building. Residents were escorted to safety and crews got to work. According to Urbana fire, around 35 personnel from Urbana FD as well as the Champaign Fire Department responded to the scene.
It took around 15 minutes to get the flames under control.
At the scene of the fire, Urbana FD told WAND News that six or seven households could be displaced.
