NORMAL, Ill. (WAND) — The Illinois Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Child Protection Training Academy (CPTA) at Illinois State University will open its doors next week.
The CPTA will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the academy. It will be the fourth regional DCFS training hub in the state.
It will be used to train DCFS employees using "professional actors, skilled facilitators, and volunteer medical and legal experts" to simulate real-life case scenarios, according to ISU.
The ceremony will be held at the Baby Fold - Hammitt School location on Friday, April 25 at 10 a.m.
