SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Secretary of State’s office opened a new Springfield Flagship Center Wednesday designed to improve the DMV experience and offer people more services.
The center offers 30 full service counters and fast lane kiosks. It's more than double the size of all existing DMV facilities in Springfield combined.
"Too often government fails by maintaining the same old technology and sustaining the same old mindsets," said Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias. "Re-imagining both, modernizing the office and broadening our vision to embrace changes has been our goal."
Appointments can be made online for the center, located on South Dirksen Parkway.
