Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon released the identity of the man stabbed. Allmon says, 23 year old Micheal Gristy died at the hospital just after 5 Saturday morning.Â
An autopsy was done today and preliminary findings show Gristy died from multiple stab wounds.Â

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Springfield Police are investigating after an early morning stabbing.Â
It happened in the 2500 block of East North Grand Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
When police arrived they found a 23 year old man who had been stabbed. He was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries.
Springfield police says, the incident happened in the 3000 block of Louise Lane.Â
A person of interest is being interviewed at this time.Â
This remains under investigation.Â
