DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A school resource officer used pepper spray to "break up an incident" according to Decatur Public Schools #61.
The district confirmed that "several incidents" occurred around the end of the school day on Tuesday. These incidents are being investigated according to DPS.
In a statement provided to WAND News, DPS asked parents to continue speaking with their students about disruptive behavior and said that disruptive behavior will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct and Parent Handbook.
