SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Supporters of independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. gathered on Monday to post petitions at the Board of Elections in Springfield.

It is the first time an independent presidential campaign has reached the 25,000-signature requirement to be displayed on a presidential ballot in Illinois.

The candidate is running a nationwide effort to be included on the ballot on all 50 states.

He also failed to qualify for the upcoming presidential debate between President Biden and former President Trump.
