CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — Robots took over the Electrical and Computer Engineering building on the University of Illinois campus on Saturday, November 9.
"Robot Day" brought out kids of all ages to campus to learn about robotics. The I-Robotics Club at the University hosted the events with several other groups from central Illinois.
IRobotics President, Coggan Bannerian said the event is a bit nostalgic for him, "Putting myself back when I was a kid, I wish I had these opportunities to get introduced to STEM and robotics earlier on. Here, we saw kids as young as four or five really getting to see these robots up close and personal."
Bannerian added the best way to get your kids involved, is to reach out to a local team near you.
