TOLONO, Ill. (WAND) -- One of Central Illinois' most successful high school football coaches announced he is retiring.
The school confirmed that Scott Hamilton announced Tuesday he decided to step away from coaching Unity.
He was the head football coach after 31 seasons which included leading the Rockets to 29 playoff appearances and six runner up finishes.
Hamilton also announced earlier in the school year he would also retire as the Athletic Director at Unity High School at the end of the school year.
In his three decade coaching career he recorded a 291-74 record.
