DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — With Thanksgiving getting closer day by day, shoppers are hitting their local grocery stores to get the last bit of ingredients on their lists.

Kroger shopper Breyanna Helm said she felt the prices were higher than last year.

"I think they're a little bit more elevated than usual. And I mean, kind of with how things are going with the economy, that's kind of expected," Helm said.

Whereas shopper Stacey Means said she felt they were slowly declining.

"They're coming down. I mean, it's going to happen slowly, right? They went up slowly  it seemed quick, but I think they're coming down," Means said.

While shoppers disagreed on the status of pricing, they all looked forward to spending time with family and engaging in the festivities.

When young Sawyer Elder was asked what they were most excited to eat, their answer was simple: "Everything."
