CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A homeowner escaped an overnight house fire in Champaign after their smoke alarm woke them. 

The Champaign Fire Department was called to a house in the 1300 block of Williamsburg Dr. Monday at 10:01 p.m. Crews were able to put the fire out quickly. 

The homeowner woke up to their smoke alarm going off. There was a fire outside the home that was extending into the attic. 

The cause of the fire is listed as accidental, being attributed to electrical. No injuries were reported.
