(WAND) - Sugar cookies sold at Target in multiple states, including Illinois, are being recalled for contamination.

A notice posted to the Food and Drug Administration's website said the Favorite Day Bakery Frosted Sugar Cookies may be contaminated by a "foreign material."

A voluntary recall was issued July 22 by Give and Go Prepared Foods Corp. in Canada. Favorite Day is a private label brand that is sold at Target.

803 cases were recalled.

The cookies may contain wood. They were distributed across 20 states and Washington, D.C.

The Class II recall classification means the product "may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences."
