SULLIVAN, Ill. (WAND) – Mother Nature has been cruel to the City of Sullivan. As a result, Sullivan has extended its water restrictions until Aug. 1.

Water restrictions were imposed over the winter. An aquifer from which the city draws its water is currently 15 feet below normal.

Restrictions will include no lawn watering, no watering of planters, bushes or gardens, no pools, large or small, and no hot tub filling.

Water conservation is encouraged, with residents urged to be mindful of their water usage and repair any leaks right away.
