PARIS, IL- A Paris teenager accused of stabbing his mother to death last week was in court Thursday.
Terry Payton, 16, has been charged with two counts of first degree murder in connection with his mother's death.
Police found Terry's mother, 53 year-old Kathie Payton, stabbed to death inside her home on Highland Court in Paris last Thursday.
Court records show Terry Payton plans to plead not guilty by reason of insanity.
Hearings on motions to have Payton undergo a mental examination were continued until next Tuesday. Payton remains jailed at a Danville juvenile detention facility on $500,000 bond.
