FORSYTH, Ill. (WAND) — As the weather gets warmer, motorcyclists are breaking out their bikes and getting ready to hit the road. Its important for all drivers to stay alert this season.
Donnie Hampsmire, a Parts Associate with Coziahr Harley-Davidson suggested wearing bright colors, staying out of cars' blind spots, and keeping alternative routes in mind while construction is under way.
"If you don't put yourself in harm's way, you're way better off."Â Hampsmire said.
ISP Trooper Shafer McKune said drivers should keep the slogan 'Look Twice, Save a Life' in mind.
"Taking an extra look both ways, taking an extra couple seconds to be cognizant of if a motorcycle is coming can be a big factor in making sure we're avoiding traffic crashes with motorcycles."
