University of Illinois reports nearly $500M in fundraising

URBANA, Ill. - The University of Illinois published its Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.

The goal of the report is to increase public awareness of safety trends on campus.

It includes statistics from the previous three years about crime on campus, crime in certain off-campus building, and certain campus-owned properties.

The report shows robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and motor vehicle theft on campus stayed relatively low.

2017 saw a small decrease of reports in those categories.

Reports of sexual violence increased.

Liquor and drug law arrests on campus remained low.

There were seven fires in University Housing facilities in 2017, compared to 15 in 2016 and seven in 2015.
