DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The WSOY Food Drive is Friday at the Airport Plaza Kroger in Decatur.Â
It's not too late to donate food or money. Here's what you need to know.
LOCATION AND HOURS
Kroger - 1818 Airport Plaza, in Decatur
6 a.m. to 6 p.m.Â
DRIVE-THRU DONATIONS
If you want to donate on the day of the food drive, you can enter the Kroger via Airport Plaza Drive. Donors will be routed through the parking lot to the appropriate space. If you plan to shop at Kroger you can use the Maryland Avenue entrance. If you are using Kroger mobile orders you can also enter through Airport Plaza Drive. The only exit from the Kroger parking lot will be onto Maryland Avenue.Â

The traffic flow around Kroger is in place from 5 a.m. Friday to approximately 6:30 p.m. Signs will be in place to assist drivers.Â
HOW TO DONATE
There are several ways to donate.Â
- Donate in-person. The food drive will accept cash, checks, and credit cads. You can also donate non-perishable food items, too.
- Call 217-405-FOOD (3663) on October 4. Phone operators will be available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to take your donation.
- Donate online at this link.Â
- Venmo the food drive by submitting to @UWDecatur
- Text WSOY to 26989
- Mail a donation to United Way, 201 W. Eldorado St., Decatur IL, 62522 (make sure to put Food Drive in the memo)
You can also give credit to your donation to an area school. Schools competing in the food drive can win cash prizes thanks to the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation.Â
WHO BENEFITS
A number of area organizations and non-profits will benefit from Friday's food drive. You can watch several stories here about groups and people need assistance.
