Danville, IL- The state EPA has tested water from a drainage ditch in Danville after residents complained about the smell.

The cause of the smell? A mixture of molasses and fatty acids that rain washed away from the Double S Liquid Feed Service Company.

The IEPA has issued violations to Double S, CSX Railroad and the city of Danville, but so far no timeline has been given for the cleanup.

Residents say they know the spill won't be cleaned up over night, but they are concerned about their health and they want to know when it will be cleaned up.

The president of Double S says the company is working with the IEPA.
