Woman killed in explosion, house fire in Harristown identified

HARRISTOWN, Ill. (WAND) — A woman is dead after an explosion and house fire in Harristown Saturday. 

Just before 12:30 p.m., 911 received multiple calls of an explosion near S. Twinlakes Rd. and W. Main St. 

First responders found a heavily damaged structure with fire throughout.

72-year-old Hanh T. Burns was found dead at the site of the explosion on W. Macon Street. Autopsy results are pending, and the cause and origin of the explosion and fire are under investigation by the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
