The National Weather Service in Lincoln said a tornado that hit the Nokomis/Pana area on Sunday and ripped off part of the roof of a local school was an EF-1.
The district closed school Monday after strong storms caused damaged to the high school Sunday night.
Two EF-0 tornadoes were confirmed in southern Effingham County. An EF-U was confirmed in Jasper County and another EF-U was confirmed in Crawford County. There was also an EF-1 in Crawford County that caused significant damage to several homes.
