DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The National Weather Service in Lincoln said a tornado that hit Long Creek on Sunday causing extensive damage to several homes was an EF-2 with winds around 120 miles per hour.Â

In a Monday afternoon post, the National Weather Service in Lincoln said the tornado first touched down near Blue Mound. It remained on the ground traveling through Long Creek before lifting in Piatt County.Â
A mother told WAND News she put herself on top of her daughter as a tornado headed towards her home and ripped the roof off.Â
The tornado damaged at least nine homes in the Long Creek and tore the roof off of several houses. No injuries were reported.Â
NWS Lincoln said the tornado was on the ground for 23.62 miles and was 250 yards wide.
The NWS Chicago office also confirmed four tornadoes in Iroquois County. Two EF-0's near Clifton, and EF-1 east of Clifton, and an EF-U (unknown) near Martinton.Â
An EF-0 tornado was confirmed near Redmon in Edgar County. NWS said it had winds around 80 miles per hour. It was on the ground for two-tenths of a mile and was 30 yards wide. NWS said there was minor damage to an outbuilding. Â
A tornado was also confirmed south of Peoria on Sunday, causing roof damage, knocking down trees, and snapping power poles.Â
