CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois seeks its first eight-game win streak as struggling Maryland comes to town.
The Illini got win number seven in a row following a 77-67 win over Minnesota on Saturday. Illinois received bad news ahead of the matchup after senior guard Kylan Boswell suffered a fracture in his right hand during practice earlier this week. Not ideal timing with #4 Purdue up next this weekend. Maryland is experiencing its worst season in years, with a 1-6 start to Big Ten play. This comes after the Terrapins finished the 2024-25 campaign ranked #9 in the country.
No matter the Terrapins' record, Illinois must be careful given its 8-17 record all-time against the program, including 3-9 under Brad Underwood, per Illinois Athletics.
