ROSEMONT, Ill. (WAND) - The Big Ten released the complete bracket for the 2026 Big Ten baseball tournament, which will be held in Omaha, Neb. Illinois will serve as the #9 seed in the 12-team competition.
The Illini will open tournament play in the second contest of the double-elimination side of the bracket, meeting 8th seeded Iowa at 1pm on Tuesday, May 19. The Hawkeyes won the regular season meeting between the programs 2 games to 1.
A total of 4 teams from the double-elimination bracket will advance to an expanded 8-team single-elimination bracket. Teams seeded 5-12 will need to win their way to the single-elimination bracket, where the top-4 programs earned byes to begin their postseason.
Illinois enters the Big Ten tournament with an overall record of 28-25, and a 14-16 performance against conference competition.
The Big Ten Network will broadcast each game of the tournament.
